Below is a list of our staff at Lakewood Animal Health Center.
Kyra (also known as Kiki) joined LAHC Feb. 2019, but has worked in the veterinary industry since 2017. She was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. She is passionate about working with animals, creating art, playing ukulele, and spending time with loved ones. Kyra shares her space with a Siamese cat named Princess Sugar Spice and a calico kitty named Gabby. She hopes to attain a degree as a registered veterinary technician.
Maggie has been on our team since 11/2018. Maggie is especially happy working with the felines, but is quick to add in that "dogs are cool too"! In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family and pets, puzzles, and refinishing antiques.
Madison joined the team Feb. 2020. She grew up in Pleasant Hill and has been surrounded by 4 legged friends her whole life. She bought her own 1st pet when she was 15, and has since known that she's wanted to work with animals. Madison has been a vegetarian for the past 6 years because of her concerns for animals and the environment. She enjoys spending time with her family, listening to audio books, and traveling to new places.
Melaina was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She started out at LAHC as a kennel attendant in Oct. 2017, and has since transitioned to a veterinary assistant position. It has been a dream of hers to work with animals ever since she was little. She currently has 2 dogs (a collie and a poodle mix) that she enjoys spending time outdoors playing with. She also enjoys art projects and cooking.
Kellecia is a native of Kansas City, but has recently moved back to the area after spending 4 years in Michigan. She began working here in Feb. 2020 as a kennel attendant. She currently divides her time between being a veterinary assistant and helping in reception. She enjoys working with all the animals that come in- especially cats and giant dogs! She enjoys helping people. swimming, and spending time with her black cat.
Registered Veterinary Technicians (R.V.T)
Crystal grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska. She graduated in 2004 from Northern State University, with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. Her greatest passion is animals; she cannot see herself in a career without them. Crystal joined our staff in April of 2007. She considers herself a cat person, and has been dubbed the honorary cat handler/cat whisperer of the clinic! She loves spending time with her 2 kids, relaxing lakeside, and exploring new places.
Cassie grew up in Kansas City, MO always surrounded by family and pets. She has worked in the veterinary field since she was 15 and fell in love with the nursing side of veterinary medicine. Cassie graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technician Program in 2011. She joined the Lakewood Animal team in January 2013. Cassie enjoys helping clients learn new ways to care for their pets as well as getting to know the patients herself. She spends her free time with her husband, son, and furry companions.
Erin Graduated from Maple Woods' Veterinary Technician Program in 2008. She joined our staff November, 2010. She grew up in Leavenworth, KS, and lives in Kansas City. Erin spends most of her time chasing after her twin boys. She also enjoys attending KU Football games and going to see the Missouri Mavericks. Erin likes working with pets of all ages!
Zenetta was originally born in South Africa, but grew up in Fort Smith, AR. She graduated in 2013 from Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in Biology. Zenetta joined our staff in October 2016, and graduated from Maple Woods Veterinary Technician program in 2018. Zenetta loves relaxing with a good book and spending time with her husband and their dog. Zenetta enjoys learning new skills to provide prime healthcare to her patients.
Chassity joined LAHC in 2013. She graduated from the Maplewoods Technician program in 2004. She is married, has 3 beautiful daughters, and several four legged kids. She enjoys being creative and spending time with her family.
Tamara was born and raised in Kansas City and currently resides in Grandview with her adorable Boxer mix, Deku. Tamara has always had a passion for animals and graduated Maple Woods Veterinary Technician Program in 2016. She joined the amazing staff at LAHC in May of 2019. Her favorite part about working at LAHC is the dedication of the staff to provide quality care to our patients and interacting with their equally dedicated owners. Tamara enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading books, writing books, knitting, and listening to music.
Donna has worked in the veterinary field for over 30 years because she loves her job. Donna has a following of clients and patients that have known her for years and appreciate the special attention she gives to each of them. Donna is married with 3 wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her 3 gorgeous grandchildren. Her ‘babies’ at home include 2 dogs and 1 cat.
Peggy is a native of western Missouri and has lived in Lee’s Summit for 30 years. She has been married for over 30 years. She has a wonderful husband, 6 children, and several grandchildren. She is detailed and conscientious. She enjoys learning something new everyday. She is involved with the local and national Newfoundland Club and actively trains and shows her own Newfoundlands.
Rebekah has made several states her home throughout her life; but has most recently made the move to KC from the East Coast. She is excited to have made KC her home! She joined the staff as a receptionist in 2020. She is a military wife and mom to 3 fur-babies. Rebekah enjoys art, good music, and snuggling with her animals. She really enjoys helping clients and their pets.
Sharon was born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas. She graduated from Jefferson College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1983. After working as a licensed vet tech for several years, she joined the Liberty, MO Police Department doing Animal Control and rescue work and retired after 25 years with the Police Department. She has owned horses her entire life until 2004 when she took up riding her BMW motorcycle instead. She has a beautiful daughter and as of yet, only has a grand dog(…hint, hint...if you’re reading this, Stephanie….). Sharon currently shares her home with a hairless cat, Skindrick Lamar, and a Yorki, Mia.
